SubStation Studio is located in Housatonic, MA, a sleepy old Mill Town that is part of Great Barrington. GB, as the locals call it, was voted "#1 Best Small Town in America" in a 2012 Smithsonian Article and is the heart of Southern Berkshire County. A popular tourist destination, The Berkshires have lots to offer to people who love to hike, ski, swim, fish or camp, hike, as well as to those who enjoy eating at restaurants serving fresh farm to table food, or who appreciate the cultural offerings of The Jacob's Pillow, Tanglewood, Kripalu, Mass Moca, Shakesphere and Co. to name a few.

Right down the road from the studio is Amy's "Housie Market Cafe". This is a lovely spot to grab a latte and a breakfast sandwich in the morning and soup and a grilled Cheese Sandwich at lunch. All the food is prepared fresh and in the summer you can sit outside and look up at Flag Rock. Around the corner is Aberdale's, a good old package store. On the other side of the block is "Pleasant and Main" a nice restaurant that has opened recently. If you go down the river for about 2 miles you come to Taft Farm, a Farm Store that makes great sandwiches and baked goods. There is also an amazing bakery in town called "Berkshire Mountain Bakery". Last but totally not least there is the "Brick House Pub", also a live music venue. When you go make sure to order a "SubStation": Silver Tequila, Club Soda, and Lime. That's right! We got a drink named after the studio:
